Section 36p. 49.155 (5m) of the statutes is created to read:

(5m) Administrative hearings. If an individual receiving a child care
8subsidy under this section requests an administrative hearing on a matter relating
9to the program under this section, notwithstanding subch. III of ch. 227 all of the
10following apply with respect to the hearing:

1. The hearing examiner may allow the individual who requested the hearing
12one or more continuances.

12. If the hearing examiner grants the individual a 2nd continuance, all child
2care subsidy payments on behalf of the individual shall be suspended pending the
3final decision of the hearing examiner.

3. The hearing examiner shall render his or her final decision within 30 days
5after the individual filed the request for the hearing, regardless of whether the
6hearing examiner has granted one or more continuances.".
