AB493-AA6,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB493-AA6,1,3 21. Page 1, line 2: delete the material beginning with "exemption" and ending
3with "from" on line 3.
AB493-AA6,1,4 42. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:
AB493-AA6,1,5 5" Section 1d. 5.02 (6e) of the statutes is created to read:
AB493-AA6,1,86 5.02 (6e) "Homeless person" means an individual who lacks a fixed, regular,
7and adequate nighttime residence and who has a nighttime residence that is one of
8the following:
AB493-AA6,1,109 (a) A supervised publicly or privately operated shelter designed to provide
10temporary living accommodations.
AB493-AA6,1,1211 (b) An institution that provides a temporary residence for individuals intended
12to be institutionalized.
AB493-AA6,2,2
1(c) A public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as, a regular
2sleeping accommodation for human beings.".
AB493-AA6,2,3 33. Page 2, line 1: delete " Section 1" and substitute "Section 1m".
AB493-AA6,2,4 44. Page 2, line 3: after that line insert:
AB493-AA6,2,5 5" Section 1n. 5.02 (6m) (h) of the statutes is created to read:
AB493-AA6,2,96 5.02 (6m) (h) If an individual is a homeless person and not able to present any
7of the documents specified in pars. (a) to (f), an affidavit in the form prescribed by the
8board specifying the individual's name and address, affirming the individual's
9identity, and stating that this is the address of the individual's residence.".

AB493-AA6,2,11 11" Section 6m. 7.51 (5) (a) 4. of the statutes is amended to read:
AB493-AA6,2,1312 7.51 (5) (a) 4. The inspectors shall immediately deliver all ballots, statements,
13tally sheets, lists, and envelopes, and affidavits to the municipal clerk.
AB493-AA6,6n 14Section 6n. 7.51 (5) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB493-AA6,3,815 7.51 (5) (b) The municipal clerk shall deliver all ballots, statements, tally
16sheets, lists, and envelopes relating to a school district election to the school district
17clerk, excluding any absentee ballots that are received after the closing hour on
18election night and any provisional ballots, by 4 p.m. on the day following each such
19election and shall deliver to the school district clerk any amended statements, tally
20sheets, and lists for additional provisional and absentee ballots canvassed under s.
216.97 (4) or 7.515 (6) (b) no later than 4 p.m. on the Monday after the election. The
22municipal clerk shall deliver to the county clerk the ballots, statements, tally sheets,
23lists, and envelopes for his or her municipality relating to any county, technical
24college district, state, or national election no later than 4 p.m. on the day following

1each such election or, in municipalities where absentee ballots are canvassed under
2s. 7.52, by 4 p.m. on the 2nd day following each such election, and shall deliver to the
3county clerk any additional provisional and absentee ballots canvassed under s. 6.97
4(4) or 7.515 (6) (b) together with amended statements, tally sheets, lists, and
5envelopes no later than 4 p.m. on the Monday after the election. The person
6delivering the returns shall be paid out of the municipal treasury. Each clerk shall
7retain ballots, statements, tally sheets, or envelopes , and affidavits received by the
8clerk until destruction is authorized under s. 7.23 (1).".
