AB68-AA1,1,2 21. Page 1, line 4: before "and" insert ", making an appropriation,".
AB68-AA1,1,3 32. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:
AB68-AA1,1,4 4" Section 1d. 20.475 (1) (dm) of the statutes is created to read:
AB68-AA1,1,65 20.475 (1) (dm) Prosecution of drunken driving offenders. A sum sufficient to
6prosecute persons for crimes punishable under s. 346.65 (2) (am) 1m.
AB68-AA1,1g 7Section 1g. 20.550 (1) (cm) of the statutes is created to read:
AB68-AA1,1,128 20.550 (1) (cm) Representation of drunken driving offenders. A sum sufficient
9to pay the costs of representing persons who are charged with crimes punishable
10under s. 346.65 (2) (am) 1m., including costs associated with representation provided
11by the office of the state public defender and with reimbursing private attorneys
12appointed to act as counsel under s. 977.08.

AB68-AA1,2,19 7(1) Audit of counties and agencies affected by changes to penalties for
8driving a vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.
The legislative audit
9bureau shall perform a financial audit of counties, offices of district attorneys and
10public defenders, and circuit courts to determine the fiscal and administrative costs
11to the counties, offices, and courts to prosecute actions that are punishable under
12section 346.65 (2) (am) and (bm), (2g), and (7) of the statutes, as affected by this act.
13The legislative audit bureau shall prepare a report of its findings and
14recommendations for addressing any negative consequences of the changes to
15sentencing under the affected statutes. No later than 18 months after the effective
16date of this subsection, the legislative audit bureau shall submit copies of the audit
17report and its recommendations to the chief clerk of each house of the legislature for
18distribution to the appropriate standing committees under section 13.172 (3) of the
19statutes.".
