3"d. Any other foods specified by the department. The department shall select
4the foods specified under this subd. 1. d. on the basis of their nutritional value and
5consistency with federal department of agriculture guidelines for a well-balanced
6diet and shall take into account diverse cultural traditions and dietary needs of
7individuals, such as individuals who have food allergies or gluten intolerance,
8individuals who are vegetarian or vegan, and individuals who obtain their primary
9proteins from other than beef, chicken, and pork. The department shall annually
10evaluate and make additions or other modifications, if appropriate, to the foods
11specified under this subd. 1. d.".
