SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 835

AB835-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB835-SA1,1,2 1. Page 2, line 1: delete lines 1 to 5 and substitute:

AB835-SA1,1,3 “ Section 1d. 115.436 (2) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB835-SA1,1,7 115.436 (2) (intro.) A school district is eligible for sparsity aid under this section if it the school district's membership in the previous school year divided by the school district's area in square miles is less than 10 and if the school district satisfies all one of the following criteria:

AB835-SA1,1f Section 1f. 115.436 (2) (b) of the statutes is created to read:

AB835-SA1,1,10 115.436 (2) (b) The school district's membership in the previous school year was greater than 745 but no more than 1,000.

AB835-SA1,1h Section 1h. 115.436 (2) (c) of the statutes is repealed.

AB835-SA1,1j Section 1j. 115.436 (3) (a) of the statutes, as affected by 2017 Wisconsin Act 59, is renumbered 115.436 (3) (a) 2. (intro.) and amended to read:

AB835-SA1,2,3 115.436 (3) (a) 2. (intro.) Beginning in the 2009-10 2019-20 school year, from the appropriation under s. 20.255 (2) (ae) and subject to par. (b), the department shall pay do the following:

AB835-SA1,2,5 a. Pay to each school district eligible for sparsity aid $300 under sub. (2) (a) $400 multiplied by the school district's membership in the previous school year.

AB835-SA1,1m Section 1m. 115.436 (3) (a) 2. b. of the statutes is created to read:

AB835-SA1,2,9 115.436 (3) (a) 2. b. Pay to each school district eligible for sparsity aid under sub. (2) (b) $100 multiplied by the school district's membership in the previous school year.

AB835-SA1,1p Section 1p. 115.436 (3) (a) 1. of the statutes is created to read:

AB835-SA1,2,12 115.436 (3) (a) 1. In the 2018-19 school year, from the appropriation under s. 20.255 (2) (ae) and subject to par. (b), the department shall do the following:

AB835-SA1,2,14 a. Pay to each school district eligible for sparsity aid under sub. (2) (a) $500 multiplied by the school district's membership in the previous school year.

AB835-SA1,2,16 b. Pay to each school district eligible for sparsity aid under sub. (2) (b) $200 multiplied by the school district's membership in the previous school year.”.

AB835-SA1,2,17 2. Page 3, line 10: delete “$6,454,600" and substitute “$19,275,900".

AB835-SA1,2,18 3. Page 3, line 12: delete lines 12 to 14 and substitute:

AB835-SA1,2,20 “ Section 5m. Effective dates. This act takes effect on July 1, 2018, except as follows:

AB835-SA1,2,23 (1) The treatment of section 121.905 (1) (b) of the statutes and the renumbering and amendment of section 121.905 (1) of the statutes take effect on the day after publication.”.
