This bill authorizes the secretary of administration to maintain intergovernmental affairs offices to conduct public outreach and promote coordination between state agencies and authorities. The bill also authorizes an unspecified number of regional directors of intergovernmental affairs positions to be created outside the classified service and permits the secretary of administration to fix their salaries within the pay range established for executive salary group 3.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
Section 1. 16.004 (18) of the statutes is created to read:
16.004 (18) Intergovernmental affairs offices. The secretary may maintain intergovernmental affairs offices to conduct public outreach and promote coordination between agencies, as defined in s. 16.70 (1e), and authorities, as defined in s. 16.70 (2).

Section 2. 20.923 (4) (c) 1m. of the statutes is created to read:

Section 3. 230.08 (2) (yc) of the statutes is created to read:
230.08 (2) (yc) The directors of regional offices of intergovernmental affairs in the department of administration.
