ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: commending the 1995 University of Wisconsin-Madison women's basketball team.
Whereas, the 1995-96 University of Wisconsin-Madison women's basketball team had their best season in the programs history, finishing with a 21-8 record, and set a school record with 10 wins in a row; and
Whereas, the Badger women, for the first time ever, cracked the Associated Press Top Ten poll, with a ranking of 8th on February 5; and
Whereas, the fans have shown their strong support for the Badger women through their record-setting attendance with an average of 7,884 per game, which was first in the Big Ten and 4th in the nation; and
Whereas, Head Coach Jane Albright-Dieterle brought her team to its 2nd straight NCAA play-off; and
Whereas, the Badger women have many outstanding players; including Barb Franke, who earned first team all-Big Ten honors, and Keisha Anderson, who was named to the 2nd team for the 2nd straight year; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the 1995-96 University of Wisconsin-Madison women's basketball team for its remarkable season; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Coach Albright-Dieterle and Chancellor Ward.
