1997 Assembly Joint Resolution 17
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of David M. Demos.
Whereas, David M. Demos was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 20, 1951, and died on January 25, 1997, in the line of duty; and
Whereas, Mr. Demos' career of law enforcement work with the U.S. military and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department spanned nearly a quarter of a century; and
Whereas, Mr. Demos graduated from Greenfield High School and met his wife-to-be when they were both working at the Wilson Park Recreation Center; and
Whereas, he was an expert dog handler, first with the Air Force and later with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, where he worked with bomb-sniffing dogs at Mitchell International Airport; and
Whereas, he enjoyed his collection of model planes, boats and trains and belonged to a bowling league; and
Whereas, Mr. Demos received 11 letters of recognition for his work, was highly respected by his peers and was sought out for advice by many junior officers; and
Whereas, Mr. Demos is survived by his wife, Vivian, and by his 2 children, Michelle and Christopher, and his mother, Lenore Demos; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature salute the many years of devoted law enforcement service that David M. Demos rendered to the people of this state, express their sorrow at his death and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Mr. Demos' wife, Vivian, to his children, Michelle and Christopher, and to his mother, Lenore.
