ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the tragic death of Kevin L. Reichert.
Whereas, service to one's country as a member of the armed services is a noble calling, entered into by people of incredible courage, patriotism and commitment; and
Whereas, Kevin L. Reichert of Chetek, Wisconsin, joined the United States Air Force in 1988, soon after graduating from Chetek High School, where he received the American Tradition Award for patriotism from the American Legion; and
Whereas, 3 years ago, Kevin transferred to the United States Army so that he could fly Apache helicopters, and he became Chief Warrant Officer Second Class in the 6th Cavalry Regiment stationed in Germany; and
Whereas, on May 5, 1999, Kevin Reichert and his colleague, David A. Gibb of Ohio, lost their lives in a helicopter crash during night training exercises over mountainous terrain in northeastern Albania; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted service that Kevin L. Reichert gave to his country, express their sorrow at his death and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Mr. Reichert's wife, Ridgeley; to his 3 children; and to his mother, Flo Reichert.
