ENGROSSED RESOLUTION
Relating to: commending the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team on its participation in its first Final Four competition in 59 years.
Whereas, the 1999-2000 University of Wisconsin men's basketball team has an excellent recruitment, training and coaching staff guided by Head Coach Dick Bennett; and
Whereas, the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team advanced to the Final Four with a 64-60 win over Purdue on Saturday, March 25, 2000; and
Whereas, the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team, lead by Coach Dick Bennett, has reintroduced the term "defense" into college basketball; and
Whereas, the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team, shepherded by Head Coach Dick Bennett, has given Badger fans across the nation a reason to believe; and
Whereas, the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team has proven that hard work and determination by student athletes is the road map to the Final Four; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, That the members of the senate of the state of Wisconsin commend and congratulate the Wisconsin men's basketball team for its hard work and dedication in advancing men's basketball to its highest level and share the pride of the citizens of the state of Wisconsin in honoring their team achievement; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this resolution to Head Coach Dick Bennett and each member of the team.
