ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and military service of Marine Corporal Brian R. Prening.
Whereas, Marine Corporal Brian R. Prening was born in West Allis, Wisconsin, 24 years ago, and died on November 12, 2004, while bravely serving his country as a team leader in the United States Marine Corps, Company F, 2nd Battalion, 24th Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Fleet Marine Forces; and
Whereas, Corporal Prening was a man of personal integrity and honor, always looking out for the best interests of his family and friends; and
Whereas, Corporal Prening graduated from Plymouth High School in 1998, where he excelled as a 3-sport athlete in football, track and field, and wrestling; and
Whereas, Corporal Prening proudly answered the call of duty and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1999; and
Whereas, Corporal Prening was married on August 13, 2004, to Amy, who is expecting their first child in May, and had a loving relationship with 20-month old Alex; and
Whereas, Corporal Prening served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and faithfully carried out his duty to liberate the people of Iraq from an oppressive dictator; and
Whereas, Corporal Prening led a 3-man fire team against insurgents in the Babil Province of Iraq where he heroically died in the line of fire while assisting a fellow Marine; and
Whereas, Corporal Prening was a marine and a dedicated family man who was proud to serve his country and represented the state of Wisconsin with honor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin state legislature commend the devoted service that Corporal Brian R. Prening contributed to his country, his state, and his community; express their sorrow at his death; and extend their sincere condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Corporal Prening's wife, Amy, of Plymouth; his father, Bill, and mother, Debbie, of Plymouth; his brother, Bill, of Plymouth; and his sister, Ann, of Plymouth.
