2007 Assembly Joint Resolution 32
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the lifelong professional and community service achievements and contributions of Joyce A. Bytof of Appleton, Wisconsin.
Whereas, Joyce Bytof was born on October 26 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and has been an invaluable leader in the Fox Valley community since moving there in the early 1950s; and
Whereas, Joyce Bytof joined Bytof Realtors, Inc., in Appleton in 1975, and in 1990 became president and chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker: The Real Estate Group, Inc., in Appleton, which currently has numerous branch offices and employs more than 500 realtors throughout northeastern Wisconsin; and
Whereas, Joyce Bytof served as the president of the Northeast Wisconsin Realtors Association in 1985-1986, was appointed to the Wisconsin Realtors Association Board of Directors in 1983, serving as president from 1995-1997, and was named to the National Realtors Association Board of Directors in 2003; and
Whereas, Joyce Bytof has received many honors and distinctions for her outstanding contributions to the real estate industry, including the 1985 Wisconsin Realtor of the Year Award, 1990 Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce Athena Business Woman of the Year Award, 1997 Small Business Person of the Year Award, and 2001 Volunteer Business of the Year Award; and
Whereas, Joyce Bytof has been a leader and invaluable contributor in numerous community projects and activities including serving as a member of the YMCA of the Fox Cities Corporate Board, United Way Board, Community Foundation Board, Goodwill Board, Chamber of Commerce Board, Big Brothers-Big Sisters Board, and Habitat for Humanity, and in 1993 she was elected as the first woman chair of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce; and
Whereas, Joyce Bytof served the state of Wisconsin as a member of the University of Wisconsin Curriculum Council, president of the University of Wisconsin Foundation, and in 1998 as a member of the University of Wisconsin President Search Committee; and
Whereas, Joyce Bytof has been a credit and inspiration to the entire Fox Cities community and the state of Wisconsin for more than 50 years through her commitment to community service, professional success and achievements, and friendship to many; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin state legislature do commend and congratulate Joyce A. Bytof for her outstanding service to our state and her many successes; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint resolution to Joyce A. Bytof and her family.
