ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and military service of United States Army Spc. Jon Bailey St. John II.
Whereas, Jon was born on May 13, 1981, in Neenah, Wisconsin, and died on January 27, 2007, of injuries sustained from enemy action in Taji, Iraq; and
Whereas, Jon was a 1999 graduate of St. Mary's Central High School in Neenah, attended the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and enlisted in the United States Army in 2005; and
Whereas, Jon served with distinction in the United States Army 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, and was in his first tour of duty in Iraq; and
Whereas, Jon's family and fellow citizens are very proud of him and know that he died doing what he wanted to do: serve the nation and fight for freedom; and
Whereas, Jon embodied the Army's core values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal service and he will be sorely missed; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of Jon Bailey St. John II and extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint resolution to Jon's parents, Jon and Kay St. John, to his sister, Sonja St. John, and to his grandparents Harold Bailey and Alice Bailey and Hugo and Margeret DeJong.
