2013 Assembly Joint Resolution 35
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: declaring Public Works Week.
Whereas, public works infrastructure, facilities, and services are of vital importance to the health, safety, and well-being of the people of Wisconsin; and
Whereas, these facilities could not be provided without the dedicated efforts of public works professionals, engineers, and administrators of both state and local units of government; and
Whereas, these individuals design, build, operate, and maintain public buildings, transportation systems, water supplies, sewage and refuse disposal systems, and other structures and facilities essential for serving Wisconsinites; and
Whereas, it is beneficial for citizens and civic leaders to learn about and maintain a progressive interest in the public works needs and programs of their communities; and
Whereas, the year 2013 marks the 53rd annual National Public Works Week sponsored by the American Public Works Association; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That May 19 to 25, 2013, shall be designated as "Public Works Week."
