2013 Senate Resolution 5
ENGROSSED RESOLUTION
Relating to: the retirement of Richard J. Stadelman.
Whereas, Richard J. Stadelman graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School in December 1972; and
Whereas, Richard was elected district attorney in Shawano and Menominee Counties in 1974 and 1976, where he had previously served as assistant district attorney from 1973 to 1974; and
Whereas, Richard first began working with the Wisconsin Towns Association in 1979 as general legal counsel; and
Whereas, Richard became the legislative representative for the Wisconsin Towns Association in 1984; and
Whereas, Richard became executive director of the Wisconsin Towns Association in 1987, where he dutifully advocated for the interests of local government; and
Whereas, Richard, during his tenure as executive director, served on numerous Legislative Council special study committees as well as the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection's Livestock Siting Advisory Committee and Working Lands Committee; and
Whereas, Richard and his wife, Sue, live in the town of Richmond, Wisconsin, and have four children together; and
Whereas, following a long and distinguished career in service to the people of this state, Richard is retiring from his role as executive director of the Wisconsin Towns Association; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, That the members of the Wisconsin senate do hereby honor and commend Richard J. Stadelman for his 41 years of devoted service to the people and towns of Wisconsin and wish him a long and healthy retirement; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this resolution to Richard and his wife, Sue.
