AB316,1,2 1An Act to amend 941.20 (1) (d) of the statutes; relating to: areas where
2discharging a firearm is restricted.

Under current law, a person who discharges a firearm within 100 yards of a
building that is used for human occupancy without the permission of the owner or
the occupant is subject to a fine of not more than $10,000 or imprisonment for not
more than 9 months or both. This bill changes the specified distance from 100 yards
to 200 yards.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB316, s. 1 3Section 1. 941.20 (1) (d) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB316,1,84 941.20 (1) (d) While on the lands of another discharges a firearm within 100
5200 yards of any building devoted to human occupancy situated on and attached to
6the lands of another without the express permission of the owner or occupant of the
7building. "Building" as used in this paragraph includes any house trailer or mobile
8home but does not include any tent, bus, truck, vehicle or similar portable unit.
