AB699,1,2 1An Act to create 23.28 (4) of the statutes; relating to: a snowmobile trail
2through the Squirrel River Pines State Natural Area.

Under current law, the department of natural resources (DNR) may not permit
the use of a state natural area if the use is inconsistent with or injurious to the area's
natural values. Under this bill, DNR may permit the establishment of a snowmobile
trail through the Squirrel River Pines State Natural Area.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB699, s. 1 3Section 1. 23.28 (4) of the statutes is created to read:
AB699,1,64 23.28 (4) Snowmobile trail. Notwithstanding sub. (3), the department may
5permit the establishment of a snowmobile trail through the Squirrel River Pines
6State Natural Area.
