AJR66,1,32 Whereas, Steve Cullen was born on January 5, 1955, in Evanston, Illinois, and
3died on October 12, 1995, in Cincinnati, Ohio; and
AJR66,1,54 Whereas, he graduated from Milwaukee Washington High School and the
5University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; and
AJR66,1,76 Whereas, he was elected to the Milwaukee Common Council in 1980 and
7reelected in 1984 and 1988; and
AJR66,1,108 Whereas, he served on many committees and boards, including the MECCA
9Board, and as chairman of the Common Council Finance and Personnel Committee;
10and
AJR66,1,1311 Whereas, his tenure was marked by many accomplishments; such as the
12drafting, selecting and awarding of the first cable television franchise,
13reorganization of city government and leadership on the city budget; and
AJR66,1,1614 Whereas, Steve is survived by his wife, Gael, and their 4 beautiful daughters;
15Annie, Kathleen, Molly and Colleen; as well as his mother, Beatrice, and 5 brothers
16and sisters; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
2legislature of the state of Wisconsin commend the years of devoted public service that
3Steve Cullen performed for this state and the city of Milwaukee, express their sorrow
4at his death and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
AJR66,2,7 5Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
6resolution to Steve Cullen's wife, Gael Garbarino Cullen, and to his daughters;
7Annie, Kathleen, Molly and Colleen.
