SB188,1,2 1An Act to amend 15.105 (18) (b) of the statutes; relating to: a member of an area
2private industry council on the Wisconsin conservation corps board.

The Wisconsin conservation corps board (board) consists of 7 members. Under
current law, the members must provide regional, environmental and agricultural
representation. This bill changes the composition of the board to require that one
member be a member of an area private industry council.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB188, s. 1 3Section 1. 15.105 (18) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB188,1,84 15.105 (18) (b) Membership. The Wisconsin conservation corps board consists
5of 7 members appointed by the governor from various areas of the state in a manner
6designed to provide regional, environmental and agricultural representation. One
7member of the board shall be a member of an area private industry council
8established under the job training partnership act, 29 USC 1501 to 1781.
SB188, s. 2 9Section 2. Nonstatutory provisions.
SB188,2,7 10(1)  The persons who are members of the Wisconsin conservation corps board
11on the day before the effective date of this subsection shall serve the remainder of

1their terms. The initial member appointed under section 15.105 (18) (b) of the
2statutes, as affected by this act, shall become a member of the Wisconsin
3conservation corps board on the date of his or her appointment, regardless of whether
4this results in there being 8 members on the Wisconsin conservation corps board for
5an interim period of time. Notwithstanding section 15.105 (18) (d) of the statutes,
6the term of the initial member appointed under section 15.105 (18) (b) of the statutes,
7as affected by this act, shall expire on May 1, 1999.
