SB641,1,3 1An Act to create 115.28 (40) of the statutes; relating to: the development and
2distribution to pupils of a pamphlet that provides information about acquired
3immunodeficiency syndrome.

This bill directs the department of education to develop and annually distribute
to each school board and to each private school participating in the Milwaukee
parental choice program pamphlets appropriate to each grade level that provide
information about the human immunodeficiency virus and acquired
immunodeficiency syndrome. The school board must distribute the pamphlets to all
pupils enrolled in the school district and the private school must distribute the
pamphlets to all pupils enrolled in the private school.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB641, s. 1 4Section 1. 115.28 (40) of the statutes is created to read:
SB641,2,55 115.28 (40) Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome information. Develop and
6annually distribute to each school board, and to each private school participating in
7the program under s. 119.23, pamphlets appropriate to each grade level that provide
8information about the human immunodeficiency virus and acquired

1immunodeficiency syndrome, including information about preventing the spread of
2the virus. The school board shall distribute the pamphlets to all pupils enrolled in
3the school district, including pupils enrolled in charter schools located in the school
4district, and the governing body of the private school shall distribute the pamphlets
5to all pupils enrolled in the private school.
