SJR4,1,43 Whereas, National Girls and Women in Sports Day began in 1987 as a way to
4honor Olympic volleyball star Flo Hyman; and
SJR4,1,85 Whereas, that day has evolved into an annual event that recognizes the
6accomplishments, the dedication and the development of the valuable personal
7qualities of the millions of girls and women who participate in athletics in this
8country; and
SJR4,1,119 Whereas, that day also directs attention to the positive influence of sports and
10advances the efforts of American girls and women to achieve equal access to athletic
11opportunities; and
SJR4,1,1312 Whereas, this year the day will be celebrated with many events, activities and
13games; now, therefore, be it
SJR4,2,2 14Resolved by the senate, the Assembly concurring, That the members of the
15Wisconsin Legislature recognize the accomplishments and aspirations of America's

1female athletes by declaring February 2, 1995, National Girls and Women in Sports
