AB158,1,2 1An Act to repeal and recreate 59.43 (2) (h) of the statutes; relating to:
2increasing the fees charged by a register of deeds for recording certain plats.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a register of deeds may charge the following amounts for
recording or filing certain documents:
1. For recording plats, other than cemetery plats, containing from one to 50 lots,
$25, and for each additional lot, 10 cents.
2. For recording cemetery plats containing from one to 200 lots, or a fractional
part of such lots, $25, and for each additional 200 lots, or fractional part of such lots,
$5.
3. For recording or filing a document for which no fee is specified, $10 for the
first page and $2 for each additional page.
This bill creates a uniform fee of $50 for recording with a register of deeds any
subdivision, condominium or cemetery plat.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

2under s. 236.25 or a condominium plat under s. 703.07, $50.

AB158,2,54 (1) This act first applies to documents that are recorded on the effective date
5of this subsection.
