2expiration dates on foods.

Under current law, no person may sell a food item if it is misbranded. A food
item is misbranded if its labeling or packaging contains misleading or inaccurate
information such an inaccurate statement as to quantity or quality. Under this bill,
a food item is misbranded if its expiration date has been tampered with, obscured or
altered with the intent to mislead another person.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB439,1,54 97.03 (1) (am) If its container, package or label has an expiration date that has
