AB542,1,2 1An Act to amend 15.405 (6) of the statutes; relating to: adding a 2nd dental
2hygienist to the membership of dentistry examining board.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the dentistry examining board (board) issues licenses to
practice dentistry and dental hygiene. The board consists of 5 dentists, one dental
hygienist and 2 members of the public. This bill adds a 2nd dental hygienist member
to the board.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB542, s. 1 3Section 1. 15.405 (6) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB542,2,44 15.405 (6) Dentistry examining board. There is created a dentistry examining
5board in the department of regulation and licensing. The dentistry examining board
6shall consist of 8 9 members appointed for staggered 4-year terms. Five of the
7members shall be licensed dentists in this state. One member Two members shall

1be a dental hygienist hygienists licensed to practice in this state. Notwithstanding
2s. 15.08 (1m) (a), the dental hygienist member members may participate in the
3preparation and grading of licensing examinations for dental hygienists. Two
4members shall be public members.

AB542,2,96 (1) Notwithstanding the length of the terms specified in section 15.405 (6) of
7the statutes, as affected by this act, one dental hygienist member of the dentistry
8examining board shall be appointed by the first day of the 4th month beginning after
9the effective date of this subsection for a term expiring on July 1, 2002.
