2relating to: the waiver of requirements for trapping approvals for certain
3special events or programs sponsored or approved by the department of natural
4resources.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, for a special event or program that involves hunting or
fishing for sport, the department of natural resources (DNR) may exempt the
participants from having the applicable hunting or fishing approvals if the event or
program provides education in or increases appreciation of the hunting or fishing
activity and if DNR will not suffer a substantial loss of revenue due to the
participants not having to pay for the approvals.
This bill expands the scope of these provisions to include special events or
programs that involve trapping for sport.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
