1An Act to amend 230.35 (4) (c); and
to create 230.35 (4) (a) 5m. and 230.35 (4)
2(a) 11. of the statutes;
relating to: state government holidays.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, nonrepresented state employes receive a total of 9 paid
holidays annually, while represented employes receive only the paid holidays
provided for in their collective bargaining agreements. This bill provides that
November 11 (the day on which Veteran's Day is traditionally celebrated) is a day on
which the offices of the agencies of state government are closed. In addition, the bill
increases the number of paid holidays for nonrepresented state employes from 9 to
10 days. Represented employes continue to have the paid holidays provided for in
their collective bargaining agreements.
