AJR71,1,52 Whereas, among the residents of Wisconsin are members of the Ojibwe,
3Potawatomi, Stockbridge-Munsee, Menominee, Oneida and Ho-Chunk tribes, as
4well as individuals of other Native American nations from across the United States;
5and
AJR71,1,66 Whereas, these Native American tribes have a long and important history; and
AJR71,1,97 Whereas, that history is taught in Wisconsin public schools, and the
8Department of Public Instruction has created curricular materials to assist the
9teachers of that subject; and
AJR71,1,1210 Whereas, providing accurate historical information about Native Americans to
11school children increases their understanding of, and respect for, Native Americans;
12and
AJR71,1,1513 Whereas, integration of material on Native American history into the schools'
14curricula also increases the pride that Native American children have in their rich
15cultural traditions; now, therefore, be it
