AB294,1,3 1An Act to create 134.44 of the statutes; relating to: the disclosure of personally
2identifiable information by businesses and their employes and providing a
3penalty.

This bill prohibits a business from disclosing to another person any information
received from a customer that may identify or be associated with that particular
customer.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB294, s. 1 4Section 1. 134.44 of the statutes is created to read:
AB294,1,7 5134.44 Disclosure of personally identifiable information by
6businesses.
(1) In this section, "personally identifiable information" has the
7meaning given in s. 19.62 (5).

1(2) No person engaged in, or employed by, a business operated for profit may
2disclose personally identifiable information received from a customer to another
3person.
AB294,2,5 4(3) Any person who violates sub. (2) is subject to a forfeiture of $100 for each
5violation.
