AB452,1,2 An Act to amend 29.2295 (4) (b) 2. and 29.559 (3) of the statutes; relating to: issuing fees collected by agents who issue fish and game licenses and stamps.

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, both the department of natural resources (DNR) and the agents that DNR appoints to issue fish and game licenses and stamps collect an issuing fee with each license or stamp, which is added to the base fee charged for the approval. Under current law, the issuing fee for a license is 75 cents and for a stamp is 25 cents. Also, under current law, an issuing agent who is not a DNR employe may keep 50 cents of each license issuing fee and 15 cents of each stamp issuing fee. This bill allows an issuing agent to keep all 75 cents of each license issuing fee.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB452, s. 1 Section 1. 29.2295 (4) (b) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

AB452,2,2 29.2295 (4) (b) 2. An amount calculated by multiplying the number of resident and nonresident sports licenses issued during the preceding year by issuing agents other than the band at locations within the reservation by the amount of the fee for an annual fishing license, including the portion of the issuing fee for an annual fishing license that the department receives excluding the issuing fee.

AB452, s. 2 Section 2. 29.559 (3) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB452,2,6 29.559 (3) Issuing agents. A person appointed under s. 29.024 (6) (a) 2. or 3. may retain 50 75 cents of each issuing fee for licenses and 15 cents of each issuing fee for stamps.
