AB956,1,2 1An Act to create 78.018 of the statutes; relating to: reducing the motor vehicle
2fuel tax rate.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill decreases the motor vehicle fuel tax by 3 cents per gallon of motor
vehicle fuel. Under current law, the revenue from the motor vehicle fuel tax is
credited to the transportation fund. This bill transfers $93,000,000 from the general
fund to the transportation fund.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB956, s. 1 3Section 1. 78.018 of the statutes is created to read:
AB956,1,5 478.018 Adjustment in the year 2000. On July 1, 2000, the rate of the tax
5imposed under s. 78.01 (1) is decreased by 3 cents.
AB956, s. 2 6Section 2. Appropriation changes.

1(1) General fund transfer. On July 1, 2000, there is transferred from the
2general fund to the transportation fund $93,000,000.
