AJR84,1,3 3Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That:
AJR84, s. 1 4Section 1. Joint rule 3 is renumbered joint rule 3 (1), and joint rule 3 (1) (a),
5as renumbered, is amended to read:
AJR84,2,46 Joint Rule 3 (1) (a) The usual manner of procedure is as follows: If a bill of one
7house has been amended and passed by the other house, and has been returned to
8the house of origin and that house has refused to concur in an amendment, such
9house may appoint a committee of conference and notify the other house which shall
10appoint a committee of conference unless it votes to recede from its amendment.
11Such committees shall be appointed by the presiding officer, but senate committees
12shall be confirmed as are standing committees. The joint committee shall, at a

1convenient hour agreed upon,
meet and state to each other, verbally or in writing,
2the reasons of their respective houses for or against the disagreement, and confer
3thereon, and shall report to their respective houses any agreement they arrive at by
4the vote of at least 2 of the members of the committee representing each house.
AJR84, s. 2 5Section 2. Joint rule 3 (2) is created to read:
AJR84,2,76 Joint Rule 3 (2) A committee of conference shall meet on the call of either
7cochairperson.
