AJR95,1,32 Whereas, Francis J. Lallensack was born on January 16, 1916, in Manitowoc
3and died on December 5, 1999, in Manitowoc; and
AJR95,1,44 Whereas, he graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1934; and
AJR95,1,5 5Whereas, on October 25, 1941, he married the former Gladys E. Keil; and
AJR95,1,8 6Whereas, Mr. Lallensack was a veteran of World War II serving from 1945 to
71946 where he served in Okinawa as an investigator of Japan Prisoner of War
8Camps; and
AJR95,1,11 9Whereas, he joined the Manitowoc Police Department in July 1942 as a
10patrolman, then detective lieutenant and inspector of police, retiring in December
111972; and
AJR95,1,13 12Whereas, Mr. Lallensack was elected to the Wisconsin state assembly in
13November 1972, and held the office for 4 consecutive terms retiring in 1981; and
AJR95,2,2 14Whereas, during his 8 years in the legislature, Mr. Lallensack served as a
15chairman of the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee and served on the Tourism,

1Recreation and Economic Development Committee, the Highways Committee and
2the Natural Resources Committee; and
AJR95,2,43 Whereas, Mr. Lallensack was well-respected by his colleagues; now, therefore,

AJR95,2,8 5Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
6legislature of the state of Wisconsin commend Francis J. Lallensack's years of
7dedicated public service and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and,
8be it further
AJR95,2,11 9Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
10resolution to Mr. Lallensack's wife, Gladys; to his daughter, Nancy; to his sons, John,
11Larry and Paul; and to his grandchildren, Thad, Lindsey and Kelsey.
