AR23,1,3 1Relating to: commemorating the 6 firefighters who died in a December 4, 1999,
2blaze in Worcester, Massachusetts, and thanking all members of the Fire
3Service in Wisconsin.
AR23,1,74 Whereas, Worcester, Massachusetts Fire Service members Paul A. Brotherton,
5Jeremiah "Jerry" M. Lucey, Thomas E. Spencer, James F. Lyons III, Timothy P.
6Jackson and Joseph T. McGuirk died while searching for potential victims of a deadly
7inferno inside an abandoned warehouse; and
AR23,1,98 Whereas, from 1988 to 1998, 571,385 injuries have been sustained and 1,103
9lives have been lost in the line of duty by members of the nation's Fire Service; and
AR23,1,1210 Whereas, members of Wisconsin's Fire Service bravely put themselves in
11harms way to protect property and lives at all times of the day and night, every day
12of the year; and
AR23,1,14 13Whereas, the President of the United States has called upon every American
14to thank his or her local contingent of firefighters; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the assembly thank all
2members of Wisconsin's Fire Service who stand ready every day to put their lives on
3the line when the alarm bell rings; and, be it further
AR23,2,6 4Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk provide copies of this resolution to any
5member of the assembly who wishes to present it to Fire Service members in the
6member's district.
