SB215,1,2 An Act to create 196.637 of the statutes; relating to: deferred payment agreements between public utilities and customers.

Under this bill, if a public utility and a customer make a deferred payment agreement regarding a delinquent account, the public utility may not report the delinquency to a credit reporting agency unless the customer fails to comply with the agreement.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

SB215, s. 1 Section 1. 196.637 of the statutes is created to read:

SB215,1,7 196.637 Deferred payment agreements. If a public utility and a customer enter into a deferred payment agreement regarding a delinquent account, the public utility may not report the delinquency to a credit reporting agency unless the customer fails to comply with agreement.

SB215, s. 2 Section 2. Initial applicability.

SB215,2,2 (1) This act first applies to agreements made on the effective date of this subsection.
