AB706,1,2 1An Act to create 118.33 (1) (e) of the statutes; relating to: granting high school
2credit for extracurricular sports.

Current law requires a high school student to earn 1.5 credits in physical
education in order to be eligible for a high school diploma. This bill authorizes a
school board to grant a pupil credit in physical education for participating in an
extracurricular sport if the sport is watched by a person who is licensed to teach
physical education.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB706, s. 1 3Section 1. 118.33 (1) (e) of the statutes is created to read:
AB706,1,64 118.33 (1) (e) A school board may grant a pupil credit in physical education
5under par. (a) 1. for participating in an extracurricular sport if the sport is watched
6by a person who is licensed to teach physical education.

1(1) This act first applies to high school diplomas granted on the effective date
2of this subsection.
