AJR98,1,3 Relating to: recognizing and thanking all who served as members of the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary Area Commission for their hard work and dedication.

AJR98,1,5 Whereas, the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary Area Commission was created in 1965 and continued until 2001; and

AJR98,1,7 Whereas, the commission served to protect the public's interest in the lands, river valleys, and waters that form the boundary between our states; and

AJR98,1,9 Whereas, protecting these scenic and historic treasures has been a challenging and honorable objective in spite of the many challenges; and

AJR98,1,11 Whereas, the commission nurtured economic development as well as preserving the environment; and

AJR98,1,14 Whereas, education about the resources of the valley and management options has been an accomplishment that will benefit the Mississippi Valley area for many years to come; and

AJR98,2,2 Whereas, the people of western Wisconsin have all benefited from the generous efforts of these volunteers; and

AJR98,2,4 Whereas, the people who undertook these efforts donated countless hours of precious time; and

AJR98,2,6 Whereas, the generous people who donated these hours have never been properly acknowledged for their efforts; now, therefore, be it

AJR98,2,10 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature hereby recognize and thank all who served as members of the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary Area Commission for their hard work and dedication.
