2001 - 2002 LEGISLATURE
February 4, 2002 - Introduced by Representatives Black, Kreuser and Bock.
Referred to Committee on Assembly Organization.
AR50,1,2 1To amend assembly rule 11 (4); relating to: committee votes in the presence of the
2committee.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Assembly Rule 11 (4): This rule requires all committee votes to be taken in the
presence of the committee and requires a committee member to be present to vote.
The rule provides an exception for voting in the committee on assembly organization,
the joint committee on legislative organization, and the joint legislative council. This
resolution deletes the exception for voting in the committee on assembly
organization.
AR50,1,3 3Resolved by the assembly, That:
AR50, s. 1 4Section 1. Assembly rule 11 (4) is amended to read:
AR50,1,9 5Assembly Rule 11 (4) All committee votes shall be taken in the presence of the
6committee. A member may not be recorded as voting unless the member is present
7at the committee session when the vote is taken. This subsection does not apply to
8the committee on assembly organization, to the joint committee on legislative
9organization, or to the joint legislative council.
