2001 - 2002 LEGISLATURE
September 20, 2001 - Introduced by Senators Erpenbach and Grobschmidt.
Referred to Committee on Education.
SB243,1,3 1An Act to create 121.91 (4) (i) of the statutes; relating to: increasing a school
2district's revenue limit for the costs of teaching school professional staff how to
3use digital technology and distance-learning technology.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law generally limits the increase in the total amount of revenue that
a school district may receive from general school aids and property taxes to
approximately $220 per pupil in the 2000-01 school year and, in subsequent school
years, to the amount of revenue increase allowed per pupil in the previous school year
increased by the percentage change in the consumer price index. This bill increases
a school district's revenue limit by an amount equal to the costs of teaching school
professional staff how to use digital technology and distance-learning technology to
promote learning.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
