, section 9158 (8x); relating to: a community youth grant to the Wisconsin
3chapters of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the department of workforce development is required to
provide $50,000 in each of fiscal years 2001-02 and 2002-03, in federal Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) moneys, as grants to the Wisconsin chapters
of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America to improve the social, academic, and
employment skills of youths who are eligible for TANF. This bill increases that
amount to $500,000 in each of those fiscal years.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB272, s. 1 4Section 1. 49.175 (1) (z) of the statutes, as affected by 2001 Wisconsin Act 16,
5is amended to read:
SB272,2,36 49.175 (1) (z) Community youth grant. For a competitive grant program
7administered by the department to fund programs that improve social, academic and

1employment skills of youth who are eligible to receive temporary assistance for needy
2families under 42 USC 601 et seq., $7,579,700 in fiscal year 2001-02 and $50,000
3$500,000 fiscal year 2002-03.
SB272, s. 2 4Section 2. 2001 Wisconsin Act 16, section 9158 (8x), is amended to read:

6Notwithstanding section 49.175 (1) (z) of the statutes, as affected by this act, from
7the moneys allocated under section 49.175 (1) (z) of the statutes, as affected by this
8act, the department of workforce development shall provide grants in each fiscal year
9of the 2001-03 fiscal biennium to the Wisconsin chapters of the Boys and Girls Clubs
10of America to improve social, academic, and employment skills of youth who are
11eligible to receive temporary assistance for needy families under 42 USC 601 et seq.
12The total amount of grants that are provided under this subsection in each fiscal year
13of the 2001-03 fiscal biennium shall be $50,000 $500,000.

SB272,2,2015 (1) Community youth grant for boys and girls clubs. In the schedule under
16section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of workforce
17development under section 20.445 (3) (md) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of
182001, the dollar amount is increased by $450,000 for fiscal year 2002-03 to increase
19funding for the purpose of providing grants to the Wisconsin chapters of the Boys and
20Girls Clubs of America.
