SB325,1,3 An Act to create 20.285 (1) (kj), 20.505 (8) (hm) 17c. and 36.25 (17) of the statutes; relating to: a grazing education grant program and making an appropriation.

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau

This bill establishes a program, administered by the University of Wisconsin-Extension, to make grants for educational and technical assistance concerning management intensive grazing. The grant program is funded with Indian gaming receipts. The program ends on June 30, 2006.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

SB325, s. 1 Section 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert the following amounts for the purposes indicated: - See PDF for table

SB325, s. 2 Section 2. 20.285 (1) (kj) of the statutes is created to read:

SB325,2,8 20.285 (1) (kj) Grazing education grants. The amounts in the schedule for grazing education grants under s. 36.25 (17). All moneys transferred from the appropriation account under s. 20.505 (8) (hm) 17c. shall be credited to this appropriation account. Notwithstanding s. 20.001 (3) (a), the unencumbered balance on June 30 of each year shall revert to the appropriation account under s. 20.505 (8) (hm). No funds may be encumbered from this appropriation after June 30, 2006.

SB325, s. 3 Section 3. 20.505 (8) (hm) 17c. of the statutes is created to read:

SB325,2,12 20.505 (8) (hm) 17c. The amount transferred to s. 20.285 (1) (kj) shall be the amount in the schedule under s. 20.285 (1) (kj). This subdivision does not apply after June 30, 2006.

SB325, s. 4 Section 4. 36.25 (17) of the statutes is created to read:

SB325,2,17 36.25 (17) Grazing education grant program. The board shall administer a grazing education grant program through the extension to make grants for educational and technical assistance concerning management intensive grazing. This subsection does not apply after June 30, 2006.
