SB398,1,2 1An Act to amend 49.175 (1) (z) of the statutes; relating to: a community youth
2grant to the New Concept Self Development Center, Inc.

Under current law, the department of workforce development (DWD)
administers a community youth grant program to fund programs that improve the
social, academic, and employment skills of youth who are eligible to receive
assistance under the federal temporary assistance for needy families program. This
bill requires DWD to provide a community youth grant of $250,000 in each year of
the 2001-03 fiscal biennium to the New Concept Self Development Center, Inc., to
provide community youth opportunities programming.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

SB398,2,35 49.175 (1) (z) Community youth grant. For a competitive grant program
6administered by the department to fund programs that improve social, academic,

2needy families under 42 USC 601 et seq., $7,579,700 in fiscal year 2001-02 and
3$50,000 $300,000 in fiscal year 2002-03.

6Notwithstanding section 49.175 (1) (z) of the statutes, as affected by this act, from
7the moneys allocated under section 49.175 (1) (z) of the statutes, as affected by this
8act, the department of workforce development shall provide a grant of $250,000 in
9each fiscal year of the 2001-03 fiscal biennium to the New Concept Self Development
10Center, Inc., to provide community youth opportunities programming.
