SJR45,1,3 1Relating to: dedicating room 412 East of the Wisconsin state capitol as the
2permanent location and hearing room for the joint committee on finance and
3honoring 90 years of service by the joint committee on finance.
SJR45,1,64 Whereas, the joint committee on finance, having served the Wisconsin
5legislature since the enactment of chapter 6, laws of 1911, is the longest serving
6continuing standing committee of the legislature; and
SJR45,1,97 Whereas, the origin of the joint committee on finance dates back nearly to
8statehood, when the joint committee on claims was established in 1857 to consider
9appropriations bills; and
SJR45,1,1210 Whereas, the joint committee on finance is the only legislative standing
11committee of any state in the nation that is charged with the responsibility of
12reviewing both revenues and appropriations; and
SJR45,1,1513 Whereas, upon completion of the renovation of the Wisconsin state capitol, the
14hearing room of the joint committee on finance will permanently be located in room
15412 East; and

1Whereas, on October 24, 2001, former and current members of the joint
2committee on finance will assemble to dedicate room 412 East; and
SJR45,2,53 Whereas, we express our appreciation and pay tribute to the members of the
4joint committee on finance for 90 years of service to the Wisconsin legislature and the
5people of Wisconsin; now, therefore, be it
SJR45,2,11 6Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of
7the state of Wisconsin, in celebration of the 90th anniversary of the joint committee
8on finance and in tribute to the service of the members of the joint committee on
9finance during this time, hereby dedicates room 412 East of the Wisconsin state
10capitol as the permanent location and hearing room for the joint committee on
11finance; and, be it further
SJR45,2,13 12Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
13resolution to each former and current member of the joint committee on finance.
