4playing for the Milwaukee Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals when they won the
5World Series in 1964; and
SJR54,1,76 Whereas, Bob Uecker has been the voice of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball
7Club for more than 30 years; and
SJR54,1,108 Whereas, Bob Uecker's unique brand of humor and excellent insight into the
9game of baseball has made him an icon in sports broadcasting and has earned him
10the nickname "Mr. Baseball"; and
SJR54,1,1411 Whereas, Bob Uecker has gained national prominence through various
12appearances in movies, television shows, and commercials, as well as play-by-play
13announcing of Monday Night Baseball, League Championship Series, and World
14Series games on NBC; and

1Whereas, Bob Uecker's talent as a broadcaster is only matched by his
2generosity in working to improve the lives of others through various charitable
3organizations, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which seeks to improve the
4lives of terminally ill children; and
SJR54,2,85 Whereas, Bob Uecker is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has
6continuously given back to the community through his charity events, such as
7Uecker's Great Lakes Invitational fishing tournament, Mr. Baseball's Brats Benefit,
8and the Uecker Ride for the arts; and
SJR54,2,119 Whereas, Bob Uecker was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame on November
103, 2001, and was the first former player turned broadcaster to achieve this feat; now,
11therefore, be it
SJR54,2,14 12Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
13Wisconsin legislature commend and congratulate Bob Uecker on his induction into
14the Radio Hall of Fame; and, be it further
SJR54,2,16 15Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
16resolution to Mr. Uecker.
