SJR64,1,53 Whereas, for the first time in University of Wisconsin-Green Bay history, the
4women's basketball team was recognized as the 2000-01 WBCA Academic National
5Champions for the NCAA Division I level; and
SJR64,1,96 Whereas, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Women's Basketball Team
7posted their best win/loss record since the 1991-92 season with an overall record of
824 wins and 6 losses, including a phenomenal home record of 12 wins and only one
9loss; and
SJR64,1,1310 Whereas, the team achieved an amazing 14-game winning streak — the 3rd
11longest in team history, won the regular season Horizon League conference title for
12the 4th consecutive year, and reached the NCAA tournament for the 4th time in the
13past 5 years; and

1Whereas, the team ranked in the NCAA Division I top 25 in 6 major categories,
2including field goal percentage, 3-point field goal percentage, scoring margin,
33-point field goals made per game, and scoring defense; and
SJR64,2,64 Whereas, senior forward Mandy Stowe has been commended for her success on
5and off the court in being named the Horizon League tournament's Most Valuable
6Player, as well as being selected to the Verizon Academic All-District V team; and
SJR64,2,107 Whereas, Coach Kevin Borseth was recognized as the Horizon League's head
8women's basketball coach of the year for the 3rd time in the past 4 seasons and Coach
9Borseth reached an elite coaching milestone by recording 300 wins during the
102001-02 season; now, therefore, be it
SJR64,2,16 11Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of
12the state of Wisconsin hereby commends and congratulates the University of
13Wisconsin-Green Bay Women's Basketball Team and is proud to recognize a team
14of talented women who serve as mentors and positive role models for youth
15throughout the nation by achieving success both in the classroom and in the spirit
16of competition; and, be it further
SJR64,2,19 17Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
18resolution to Head Coach Kevin Borseth, his staff, each member of the team, and
19Athletic Director Ken Bothof.
