AB345,1,2 1An Act to create 14.16 (12) of the statutes; relating to: designating the first
2weekend in March Aldo Leopold Weekend.

This bill directs the governor to proclaim the first full weekend in March each
year as Aldo Leopold Weekend. Aldo Leopold was a renowned scientist and
conservationist and is widely considered the father of wildlife ecology. He was a
professor at the University of Wisconsin for many years and is perhaps best known
as the author of A Sand County Almanac.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB345, s. 1 3Section 1. 14.16 (12) of the statutes is created to read:
AB345,1,74 14.16 (12) Aldo Leopold Weekend. The governor shall annually proclaim the
5first full weekend in March as Aldo Leopold Weekend to honor the author of A Sand
6County Almanac, an internationally respected scientist and conservationist who is
7widely considered the father of wildlife ecology.
