SB91,1,4 1An Act to renumber and amend 40.02 (24) (a) and 40.02 (24) (b); and to create
240.02 (24) (a) 2., 40.02 (24) (b) 2. and 40.22 (2) (m) of the statutes; relating to:
3participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System by supreme court justices,
4court of appeals judges, circuit judges, and state elected officials.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Currently, supreme court justices, court of appeals judges, circuit judges, and
state, county, and municipal officials elected by vote of the people are participants
in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). This bill limits the WRS participation
of supreme court justices, court of appeals judges, circuit judges, and state elected
officials to those individuals whose initial terms of office were before the bill's
effective date.
This bill will be referred to the Joint Survey Committee on Retirement Systems
for a detailed analysis, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
