AB938,1,2 1An Act to amend 120.18 (1) (d) of the statutes; relating to: reporting the
2number of hours of pupil instruction provided in public schools.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law requires each school board to submit an annual report to the
Department of Public Instruction. The school board must include in its report the
number of school days the school district held in the previous school year. This bill
requires the school board to also include in the report the number of hours of direct
pupil instruction provided in each school. Current law requires at least 437 hours
of direct pupil instruction in kindergarten, at least 1,050 hours of direct pupil
instruction in grades 1 to 6, and at least 1,137 hours of direct pupil instruction in
grades 7 to 12.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
