AJR64,1,1 Relating to: life and public service of Harold J. Reckelberg.

AJR64,1,3 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was born in Montpelier on March 29, 1927, and died in Luxemburg on October 26, 2005, at the age of 78; and

AJR64,1,5 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg attended Kewaunee High School, followed by marriage to his wife, Bernice Hannemann; and

AJR64,1,7 Whereas, the couple had 4 children, Kenneth, James, Debra, and Brenda, and is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Loren, Heather, Kristin, and Jacob; and

AJR64,1,10 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg believed in service to God where he served at St. John Lutheran Church as elder, trustee, steward, and church council president; and

AJR64,1,12 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg believed in service to his country where he served in the Army until he was discharged at the end of World War II in 1946; and

AJR64,1,14 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was employed as a mechanic by Luxemburg Implement for 18 years: and

AJR64,2,3 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was elected supervisor for the town of Luxemberg in 1969 and chairman in 1974 where he held the position for 31 years; and

AJR64,2,5 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was appointed to the Kewaunee County Board in 1974 and elected chairman in 1982 where he held the position for 18 years; and

AJR64,2,9 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg believed in service to his community where he served as the District Clerk of the McKinley School District, chairman of the Luxemberg Community Fire & Rescue Association, chairman of the Wisconsin Counties Association and countless other organizations; and

AJR64,2,13 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was appointed by Governor Thompson to serve on the National Community Service Board; he also served on the board of Farmer Trading Co. and as a member of the Kewaunee County Farm Bureau for over 50 years; and

AJR64,2,16 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was recognized for his long-time service and dedication to his family, friends, and constituents with a Community Service Award in 1992 by the Luxemberg Community Chamber of Commerce; and

AJR64,2,19 Whereas, Harold J. Reckelberg was a great man of leadership, faith, and principle in the Luxemberg community for the duration of his life; now, therefore, be it

AJR64,2,22 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin legislature commends the life and public service of Harold J. Reckelberg, expresses sorrow at his death, and extends its condolences to his family and friends.
