AJR72,1,43 Whereas, Barry Alvarez began coaching the University of Wisconsin Badgers
4football team in 1990; and
AJR72,1,75 Whereas, Barry Alvarez has won more games (118) on the University of
6Wisconsin sidelines than any of his predecessors and is just the 10th coach in Big Ten
7Conference history to win at least 100 games at the same institution; and
AJR72,1,98 Whereas, Barry Alvarez's teams have won at least a share of 3 Big Ten
9Conference (1993, 1998, 1999) and Rose Bowl Championships; and
AJR72,1,1110 Whereas, Barry Alvarez is the only coach in the history of the Big Ten
11Conference to win back-to-back Rose Bowl Championships; and
AJR72,1,1412 Whereas, Barry Alvarez has registered a 8-3 (.727) bowl record, the highest
13winning percentage in college football history for coaches with at least 11 bowl

5choices, and more than 100 Academic All-Big Ten selections; now, therefore, be it

7Wisconsin legislature do congratulate and thank Barry Alavrez for his 16 years of
8hard work and great achievements as coach of the University of Wisconsin Badgers
