1An Act to amend 19.89 of the statutes;
relating to: exclusion of members of a
2state or local governmental body from meetings of a subunit of that body.

Under current law, no member of a state or local governmental body may be
excluded from a meeting of a subunit of that body unless the rules of the body provide
to the contrary.
This bill provides that no member of a state or local governmental body may be
excluded from a meeting of a subunit of that body.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

1. 19.89 of the statutes is amended to read:

419.89 Exclusion of members. No duly elected or appointed member of a
5governmental body may be excluded from any meeting of such body.
Unless the rules
6of a governmental body provide to the contrary, no No member of the body may be
